Ask your self.....
Women create their image based on other people’s impressions,
completely forgetting to recognise what they think about themselves. Rather
than focussing on personal growth and development, we concentrate more on the
comments. How far is it fair on us? We think of others, we live for others and
we love others. When will we think of ourselves? When will we live for
ourselves? When will we love ourselves? Why do we take ourselves for granted? Why do we allow others
to take us for granted?
Have you ever asked these questions to yourself? Ask
immediately. In the last stage of your life, when you try to recollect your
most cherished moments...who do you find? What have you achieved? A successful
marital life, kids with excellent careers, happy relatives, happy
everyone...are these only your achievements?
I grew up with women
who never thought of themselves in their prime years. They in fact completely
and truly dedicated themselves to their respective families. I would not
declare it wrong. But I would prefer to call it as right when they would keep
aside some quality time for themselves. Ask them about their favorite past time activity. The answer
would obviously be “I hardly get any time form my household chores to concentrate
on myself”. And yes...we all know what those chores are.
My mother has always been my inspiration and will always be.
I have learnt from her how to love family, how to handle personal as well as
professional life harmoniously. But I always had complaints, though I never
dared to share with her out of fear of getting scolded, regarding her personal
life. Personal life, which I refer as only one person’s life that is my mother’s,
was full of us-family. When I started noticing other women, I was surprised to
know the fact that all are leading the same life. Then as a 12 years old girl I
asked myself a question... will I lead the same life? Will the world be same
when I will lead a family? Will men be the same as they are now? How should I
protect MY PERSONAL LIFE from being like these women’s lives?
Now, as a grown up women leading a family I realise nothing
has changed in the world. The only change that I have noticed is many women are
leading themselves through many professional hurdles but unfortunately their
personal lives are the same. I would like all women reading my blog to question
themselves...what is personal life? I shall discuss the same in my next blog...
